Chimes to celebrate births

Community Regional Medical Center will play "Brahms' Lullaby" throughout the hospital to celebrate whenever a baby is born.

The gentle chiming of the familiar song has been known to lift the spirits of many patients confined to the hospital, said Jeannie McNair, director of the maternal child services department.

Employees are looking forward to marking the miracle of birth in this way.

“It’s very comforting to hear that life is happening around us,” said Connie Renfro, an executive secretary for administration. “So much of the time we think of people being here just because they’re sick. This will remind us of happier reasons.”
