Work crews are busy preparing the grounds of the Community Regional Medical Center campus for two major construction projects – a six-story parking structure and a four-story medical office building.
The 88,000-square foot medical office building (M.O.B.) will be connected to the existing M.O.B., new parking structure and the trauma and critical care building by pedestrian bridges.
The $23.1 million parking structure features 1,534 parking stalls – 450 for tenants of the new M.O.B. and 1,084 for Community employees.
The entire block of Thesta Street, between Divisadero and Illinois avenues on the west side of the UCSF Fresno building, is under construction. Employee parking has been redirected to the lots north of Illinois Avenue, with traffic on Thesta now designated one way (from Divisadero to Illinois).
The new M.O.B. will sit at the south end of the block, with the parking structure taking up the rest of the space.
